A new 960 head cattle confinement building with half slatted floors with an underfloor pit and half deep bedding pack was proposed on a 1,400 acre farm.  LT Leon was responsible for preparing and analyzing a comprehensive nutrient management plan (CNMP) for the proposed cattle operation.  The application fields included corn, soybean and pasture.  LT Leon evaluated soils and developed soil sampling maps.  Additional tasks included landowner meetings, site visits, RUSLE2 modeling, and LIDAR mapping.  The project was funded by the NRCS EQIP program.
